There’s some intrigue surrounding IPA’s origin. Who brewed it first? Australia? Britain? We only know for sure that we love it and that it became really famous in the 19th century when the Burton’s brewers exported it to India from Great Britain. Its large content of hops protected it from the heat during export so the British colonialists could enjoy it.

Pale ale is a kind of ale, a top-fermented beer made with predominantly pale malt.
The higher proportion of pale malts results in a lighter color. The term first appeared around 1703 for beers made from malts dried with high-carbon coke, which resulted in a lighter color than other beers popular at that time. Different brewing practices and hop levels have resulted in a range of different tastes and strengths within the pale ale family.
